Karnataka Ministers Priyank Kharge and Santosh Lad responded to Congress leader Veerappa Moily’s comments regarding Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s potential future as Chief Minister, stating that Moily’s remarks were his personal opinion and that the decision ultimately lies with the party’s high command.

Priyank Kharge downplayed speculation about DK Shivakumar becoming CM, clarifying that no one, including Moily, had claimed Shivakumar would take over the position in the immediate future. He reiterated that the high command would make any decisions regarding leadership roles, emphasizing the current clarity in their responsibilities with Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar as Deputy Chief Minister.

Santosh Lad also addressed Moily’s comments, stating that the Congress party follows the high command’s decisions and that Moily’s statements were his own views, not reflective of the party’s stance.

Moily had previously praised DK Shivakumar’s leadership, asserting that Shivakumar had earned the right to become CM through his hard work and dedication. However, DK Shivakumar responded to rumors of his alleged closeness to the BJP, calling them false and reaffirming his loyalty to the Congress party.
